| Hand-dyed velveteen, cotton, silk, yarns, threads, embossed copper, beads, natural leaf. I am very concerned about the future of our planet and what we are doing to it. With this piece, I tried to express my fears. While I was working on it, I happened to read Mr. Al Gore's book "An Inconvenient Truth" and I found a partial quote that enhanced my message. The text on the left reads as follows: "How long will it take before only one leaf remains and no human is left to admire its beauty? I am afraid...". The one on the right says: "Will "our willingness to ignore the future consequences of our present actions" (Al Gore) be our doom?" |
