In this magazine venture, I would like to include articles by other fiber artists, professionals about different types of fabrics (batiks, hand dyed, African fabrics...), embellishments and different ideas of things that can be done with quilting. I am also including articles with general information about quilts, their use and care for those of you who love quilts and want to enjoy them, but do not necessarily want to make them. E-mail me with your ideas for topics you would like to read about! You may wish to visit other pages of interest to quilters and craftspeople alike. Please bookmark "Quilting Magazine Online" and check back often. Sincerely,
Martine House is a fiber artist, lecturer and teacher who currently lives in Western North Carolina. Born and educated in France, she moved to the United States in 1983 and immediately started quilting. After learning and mastering traditional quilt-making, she became involved with designing her own pieces and teaching her favorite techniques. She teaches for quilt guilds and quilt related groups in her region, teaches at the J.C. Campbell Folk Art School in Brasstown, North Carolina and periodically teaches workshops in France. In the Spring of 1999, her book about her embellished trapunto technique will be published in France. Martine is also going to be teaching in several locations in France following the publication of her book. To contact Martine about classes or
