"Hope"

This little piece is made with Marseille embroidery, which is an old extremely time-consuming French technique. I love it not only for its textural results but also for the meditative quality the work requires. I need to create a sort of continuity with my female ancestors and to prove that time-honored techniques do quite well in contemporary settings.
